2016 Spring Dance Concert

2016 Spring Dance Concert

AVPA’s Danger Zone Dance Company Presents

“To Be Continued,” April 21-24

The spring performance of the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts’ Danger Zone Dance Company will be a poignant tribute to the Robert Frost Auditorium at Culver City High School, a 1964 architectural icon that will soon close its doors for an extensive renovation. The program will be jam-packed with original dances that are thrilling, thought-provoking, humorous and touching, and a handful of AVPA Dance alumni who are now professional dancers will join current students in surprise performances as they pay homage to their home stage. Memories from past AVPA students will be woven into the framework of the evening.

“To Be Continued” will be performed Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening, April 21-23, at 7 p.m., and Sunday afternoon, April 24, at 1 p.m. The Robert Frost Auditorium is located at 4401 Elenda Ave. on the campus of Culver City High School. Admission is $12 general and $8 ASB, faculty, seniors, and children under 12. Children under 6 are free. Tickets are available at the door before the concert.

Known for their creative dance theater work, the Danger Zone Dance Company and faculty continue to invent new, lively, and imaginative dance for the Frost stage and beyond. Their signature performances are charged with energy and excitement, movement and stillness, and expressions of western and world dance ideas.
