Java Gala VIII Celebrates 20 Years of AVPA


The Culver City High School Academy of Visual and Performing Arts, founded in 1996, celebrates 20 years of creating art and changing lives. Java Gala, the annual benefit for the AVPA Foundation, will kick off a year-long tribute to one of the most unique arts education programs anywhere. In addition to silent auction items, we will have opportunities to donate and support the incredible work AVPA produces each year, all while enjoying a spectacular evening of entertainment from our students in Art, Dance, Film, Music, and Theatre.


When: Saturday, June 4th (Reception begins at 6:30pm, Curtain at 8:00pm)

Where: Kirk Douglas Theatre (9820 Washington Blvd, Culver City 90232)

Free covered parking at Culver City’s City Hall – across Culver Blvd from the rear of the theatre. Entrance on Duquesne.

The doors open at 6:30pm for a reception featuring the AVPA Jazz Combo, Visual Art Student Exhibition, and appetizers and desserts, catered by Culver City’s very own Henry Merritt.



Along with performances and presentations from our students, we will also induct the first class of the AVPA Hall of Fame.
