CTE/AVPA Film— Centaurs Shine at Sony Screening
For nearly 20 years, Sony Pictures Entertainment has hosted CTE/AVPA Film on their lot for a screening of 6 approximately 10-minute student films.
This year's films are:
Davey Bos' Fakin' It
Jake Bossin's A+ Idiot
Mason Fujikami's Amentalia
Fisher Jenkins' Off the Grid
Charlotte Sasson's You're My Dream Girl
Jade Tanchauco's Escuchame
These films were part of "Pitch Fest"; 23 films that were pitched to the 65 students in AVPA Film. From there, students voted on the top 6 which would become this year's "Sony Films". Students workshopped their scripts in the Advanced Screenwriting Bootcamp taught by CCHS' Game Design teacher, Mr. Darien. This year, directors and actors participated in an individual read-through of their script with AVPA Theatre Creative Director Lee Hanson where they were given guidance on acting and directing actors. Each film was shot over a 7-day period, edited, and handed off to AVPA and CTE Music Media class students who created the original scores for the films.
AVPA Film history was made this year with its first ever CG shot created by Mason Fujikami, who is also in the Game Design program. Students will now enter their films in various film festivals all over the United States.
CTE/AVPA Film will be having a 2nd Sony Screening in the Frost Auditorium on Sunday, June 9th at 2:00 pm. All are welcome to attend this free screening.
