CTE/AVPA Film— Sony Screening 2026
Writer-Directors: Jake Bossin, Lauren Davidson, Miami McRae, Roxanna Barling, Anna Eppe, Una Finn, and Randy De Paz Calderon
Sony Pictures Entertainment hosted CTE/AVPA Film on their lot this past Friday, April 24th for a screening of 6 approximately 10-minute short films.
This year's films were:
Jake Bossin’s Rock Out
Roxanna Barling’s /Anna Eppe’s The Break In
Randy De Paz Calderon’s The Game
Lauren Davidson’s Reset
Miami McRae's The M Word
Una Finn's Evanescence
These films were part of "Pitch Fest" at the beginning of the school year. AVPA Film students voted on the top 6 film pitches to become this year's "Sony Films". Writer-Directors workshopped their scripts in the Advanced Screenwriting Bootcamp taught by CCHS' Game Design teacher, Mr. Darien, throughout the Fall semester. In December/January, directors and actors participated in an individual read-through of their script with AVPA Theatre Creative Director Lee Hanson, where they were given guidance on acting and directing actors. February through March, each film was shot over a 7-day period (with multiple retakes) and the crew consisted entirely of AVPA Film students. The final editing incorporated original scores by some of the AVPA/CTE Music Media class students.
CTE/AVPA Film will be having a 2nd Sony Screening in the Frost Auditorium on Saturday, June 6th after the AVPA “Academy Awards” and graduation (time TBD).
All are welcome to attend this free screening.
