The format features 2 acts in different locations. This benefit and celebration is the AVPA Foundation’s main fundraiser of the year!
How it’ll work:
From 2pm to 3:30pm, patrons can explore the various exhibitions and performances on the Culver High campus, centered around the Kunisawa Garden and staff parking lot (off Huron/Braddock). Check out a live film shoot in a hallway, enjoy live music in the parking lot, learn 1940s dance moves, step into a jazz-age speakeasy, and view the SOVA art exhibit. Refreshments will be available throughout the first act (included in the ticket price). There will also be our traditional raffle baskets filled with valuable items. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase in advance with your admission ticket, or throughout the first act ($10 each). They’ll be on display near the Kunisawa Garden. You can always participate in our Mystery Scavenger Hunt. You’ll be on the lookout for 4 missing items - take a photo and claim a prize at the Mystery Table.
After 3:30pm, we’ll move into the Robert Frost Auditorium for the 2nd Act - a showcase and celebration of AVPA. The “Case of the Missing Cases” will be solved and the gift baskets will be raffled off! We’ll also present scholarships from the Culver City Arts Foundation and Sony Pictures Entertainment and induct the newest members of our Hall of Fame. Each AVPA School will perform or present, culminating in a finale featuring a performance of “Luck Be a Lady” from Guys and Dolls.
Please respect the neighbors of the Frost and do not park in the immediate surrounding neighborhoods.
Elenda Street has permit parking with restricted hours. To avoid citations, free self-parking is available in one of the three designated parking lots:
1. This is the closest lot to the first act activities on the campus. Culver City High School Huron back parking lot off Braddock and Huron
2. Culver City Student parking lot, off of Harter
3. Middle school parking lot, at the corner of Elenda and Farragut
