Centaur Marching Band Percussion Audition Information - Tuesday, August 11, 1:30-3:30pm
If you are a percussion student interested in joining the CCHS Band percussion section, please see the audition music attached to this email. Be prepared to play the exercises while marking time. Part of the audition will also include sight reading & marching basics. We're asking ALL percussion students to do this audition - not only to assign battery, but also evaluate skill levels for the front ensemble and future assignments for concert music. Just as equally important as the battery section, many percussionists will perform in the front ensemble, the stationary percussion section. Students in the front ensemble will play a variety of percussion instruments such as… Marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, concert bass drum, concert toms, suspended cymbals, crash cymbals, bass guitar, and latin percussion instruments. Being in the front ensemble is also a great learning tool for students who would like to perform in the battery section in the future! Battery Audition Excerpts:* to be performed on snare drum - Not Plahtz A - B only- Stick Control A - B only- Percussion Study #2
